Moss Point, Laguna Beach, CA

Erik and I went diving on January 16th at Moss Point, Laguna Beach. Here are some of the pictures I took using a close-up lens. Even though the dive was in the afternoon, using a powerfull strobe made the pictures look like a night dive.

A Green Anenome

A purple sea urchin

part of a large sea star

A bat star and a sea cucumber

A bat star

A cluster of purple urchins. When they are this dense, the kelp does not have a chance!

A large keyhole limpet on top of a mussel shell

The orange crack is the opening of a scallop

A spanish shawl nudibrach (about one inch long)

Another shot of the nudibrach

A brittle star on my glove

Two curious blacksmith fish

An egg mass, I think from a sea hare

A red urchin.
